Swansea City target Tottenham's Andros Townsend

Tottenham's Andros Townsend is being targeted by Michael Laudrup's Swansea, according to the London Evening Standard.

Townsend, who is currently out on loan at relegation candidates Queens Park Rangers, may look to leave White Hart Lane in the summer if he isn't guaranteed first-team football under Andre Villas-Boas.

The 21-year-old has been sent out on loan nine times since signing his first professional deal at the north London club.

Townsend told the Standard Sport back in February: "It’s hard at Tottenham because you have to compete with players from across Europe. We know how tough it’s going to be but we’ve all been given chances. It’s up to us to take them.

“[The move to QPR] is my big chance to show what I can do. Andre Villas-Boas has told me that he doesn’t want to sell me and that I’m in his plans for the future.”

The England Under-21 winger said shortly after his move to Loftus Road that he was confident of breaking into the Spurs first-team, although he may be tempted to pursue regular Premier League football elsewhere having tasted it with QPR.

Townsend signed a long-term contact at Tottenham until 2016 but a £5m offer from the Carling Cup winners could be enough to tempt Villas-Boas to cash in on the versatile wideman.
