Frank Lampard has been the subject of a great deal of speculation regarding the midfielder’s future.

With Lampard, 34, coming into the twilight of his career, Chelsea have reportedly told Lampard’s representatives that a new deal will not be offered to the midfielder.

There have been widespread calls from Chelsea fans to offer Lampard a new deal and keep him at the club but the management appears to have their minds made up about the matter.

Lampard has been a loyal servant for Chelsea and has won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, two Community Shields and one UEFA Champions League in his 12-year stint with Chelsea.

The Chelsea midfielder has proven he still possesses an eye for goal and a passing ability that sets him apart from other midfielders. Despite his advancing years he has shown that prowess by scoring 19 goals for Chelsea this season.

Speculation has mounted about a number of bids coming in from various clubs interested in the midfielder.

Here we take a look at the possible destinations for the England international and the effects they will have on Lampard’s career.

Los Angeles Galaxy

The most likely destination for the midfielder - the Galaxy have been looking for another marquee signing since the departure of David Beckham to PSG and Lampard would fit that billing completely.

But would a move to Major League Soccer affect Lampard’s international career with England? It’s widely known that David Beckham’s international career was all-but finished when he moved to the USA. Due to the summer season and lack of quality play, Fabio Capello decided Beckham could no longer compete on the international stage.

Manchester United

The club where veterans like Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs are thriving would provide Lampard with the most opportunity to flourish and continue playing at the level he is accustomed to in the Premier League.

With United looking after their experienced personnel the way they do who would bet against Lampard playing for another four years at Old Trafford? The only hindrance in this transfer-taking place would be the loyalty Lampard feels towards Chelsea and its supporters. Does he have the nerve to sign for one of their fiercest rivals?

Staying at Chelsea still can’t be ruled out. His current goal-scoring tally of 19 proves that he still has a lot to offer this squad. If it can continue towards season’s end it may prompt the Chelsea management to review their decision and offer him a new contract at the end of the season.

Paris Saint-Germain

PSG is another club that would be looking to add some experience within their ranks. Signing Lampard would not only guarantee a class player but their slightly inexperienced squad would also benefit from Lampard’s knowledge of the game. This transfer would be based on David Beckham’s decision to continue at PSG or call it a day and move on.

Everton could offer Lampard the chance to play weekly for a good side. They will most probably be playing in Europe as well. With David Moyes a fan of Lampard and his abilities Everton were keen to offer Lampard a chance to continue playing in the Premier League. The problem with this transfer would be Lampard’s reluctance to play and arguably finish his career at a mid-table club after playing most of his football at one of England’s elite clubs.
