Arsenal and Everton both remain in the race for a Champions League place after a 0-0 draw at the Emirates.

However both sides will feel disappointed they couldn't gain all three points in this crunch clash. The match was full of missed opportunities, including chances from Steven Pienaar, who did not have the best of matches, and Olivier Giroud, who was not clinical in front of goal.

Ross Barkley, the 19-year-old Englishman, played very well in a tough, physical game. He has proved how good he can be and that he should be in Everton’s line-up every week. Although Barkley played well, Everton definitely missed Leon Osman’s presence in midfield. Osman provides organisation and discipline to Everton’s side, and could have done with him last  night.

Darron Gibson played well, but his tackling lacked discipline and he should have been sent off. The game ended without a goal and although it does not rule either side out of a chance for Champions League success, it doesn't really help them either.

After this match, Arsenal sit third in the Premier League table, but they have played two more games than Chelsea, who are two points behind the Gunners, and one game more than Tottenham, who arealso two points behind them in the table. Everton, who are now sixth in the table, have played the same amount of games as Arsenal and are four points off the north London outfit.

However there is still hope, as both Chelsea and Tottenham have quite difficult remaining schedule.

The man of the match for me was Seamus Coleman, who stopped a few dangerous chances and was also an attacking threat for the Merseyside outfit.
