Manchester City striker set for exit

Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz expects to leave the Etihad for good and sign for Brazilian club Botafago later this week, according to his agent.

Santa Cruz is currently on loan at La Liga outfit Malaga, and the move will spell the end to his time at the Etihad after struggling to claim a first team spot since the arrival of Roberto Mancini.

In recent time he has been sent out on loan to Blackburn Rovers, Real Betis and Malaga. With the club he currently plays for, Malaga, in financial turmoil, it's unlikely a permanent transfer would be possible to the Spansih outfit.

His agent Robson Leite told Radio Tupi: "The situation is calm, the player wants to play for Botafogo and the club is interested in signing him. There is no mystery at all.

"Hopefully a deal is concluded this week. We had a meeting on Friday, his father is very satisfied and so is the agent in Europe.

"You can see that Botafogo are a very serious football club, they have returned to a winning club again and the situation is very calm."

The Paraguay international will be joining a side full of confidence after claiming the Guanabara trophy with a victory over Vasco da Gama in 2013. He will also be teaming up with Dutch legend Clarence Seedorf, whom joined from AC Milan in 2012.
