Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao not thinking about Manchester United transfer

.

Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao is not allowing talk of a summer transfer to Manchester United to become a distraction, but instead remains focused on life at the Vicente Calderón.

Speculation has intensified in the past week that Manchester United are preparing to make a move to bring the Colombia international to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.

Sir Alex Ferguson is reported to have sent his chief Manchester United scout to watch Falcao in action last weekend, with the 27-year-old finding the net twice in a convincing 5-0 La Liga victory over Granada.

Ferguson has also had his say on Manchester United's apparent pursuit of Falcao, which he denies, but speculation continues that the Colombian could join the likes of Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney at the club for next season.

However, Falcao - who has also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City - is not thinking about a potential transfer to the Premier League champions.

"In recent weeks I have tried to isolate myself and not think about the rumours about my future," Falcao told Colombian radio station RCN.

"I do not really know where that information has come from [joining Manchester United], that is part of the press.

"I'm focused only on Atletico Madrid. I do not let the market rumours affect my performance."

Falcao has scored 30 goals in 34 matches for Atletico this season, while he has 66 strikes in 84 appearances since his move to Madrid from Porto almost two years ago.
