Neymar will reportedly hold talks with Barcelona in July regarding a potential move to the Camp Nou in the summer transfer window, although Manchester City retain an interest in bringing the young Brazilian to the Etihad Stadium.
The 21-year-old continues to be linked with a move to some of Europe's most prominent clubs, Chelsea and Manchester United included, but Goal.com reports that Barcelona are closing in on a deal for the Santos forward.
Neymar is set to play in the Confederations Cup for Brazil in the summer, after which he is will take a one week holiday, before he is scheduled to travel to Barcelona on July 9 and speak members of the club's hierarchy.
It was recently confirmed by a representative of Barcelona working specifically on deals in South America that Neymar has been identified as a primary target for the Catalan club and now, it would appear, they are closing in on their man.
Neymar has long been expected to secure a transfer to Barcelona, and previous reports have claimed the Primera Division leaders already had an agreement in place with Santos to sign the Brazil international.
Manchester City, however, have reported yet to give up hope of beating Barcelona to the signature of Neymar, and the club's director of football Txiki Begiristain has had talks with representatives of the player.
Begiristain met advisors of Neymar at Wembley in February, following initial discussions in Sao Paulo.
