Liverpool have had a year of transition, to say the least, under new boss Brendan Rodgers.

The Red's manager has slowly implemented his philosophy into the Anfield side.

The team has had a mixed bag of results, with some breath taking performances, as well as some absolute shockers.

After Kenny Dalglish left the club, Liverpool were looking to head into a new direction.

Here are three players, who's time at Liverpool may have to come to an end, in order for the club to move forward.

Pepe Reina

Reina has been a key figure in goal for Liverpool in recent years, however of late he hasn't been at the same high standard he previously set himself.

His distribution of the ball is one of the best in the league but his error prone mistakes make him a liability that a club chasing the Champion’s League places cannot afford.

Andy Carroll

The player has unfairly been treated by fans and critics after his transfer to the Anfield club. He has shown that he has quality to play in the Premier League, but he will be unable to fit in the system that Rodgers wants to deploy.

A move back to Newcastle might be on the cards for the striker and Liverpool should be wise enough to take the cash for the player while they can.

Martin Skrtel

Skrtel's fall from grace is very astonishing since he signed a lucrative contract in the summer, since then he has made a number of shaky appearances and has lost his place to the retiring Jamie Carragher. Liverpool should look to sell him this summer.

Perhaps a move to Russia could be on the cards for Skrtel this summer.
