Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted he is flattered to be linked with the Real Madrid job.

Current Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has been rumoured to be on the way out of the Santiago Bernabeu - with a return to Chelsea his likely destination.

Klopp's Dortmund have been in impressive form over the last couple of seasons, with the German side winning consecutive Bundesliga titles under his tutelage.

"I will ask Mourinho what he will do next season," Klopp told Marca.

"I'll stay, unless we play so bad I get fired. To be spoken of as a possible successor to Mourinho is an honour. Better they want Klopp than anyone but Klopp."

Borussia Dortmund host Mourinho's Real Madrid next Wednesday as they bid to reach their first Champions League final since they last won the competition in 1997.

Klopp got the better of Mourinho when the two sides met earlier in the season by picking up four points against the Spanish giants to top Group D.

Both sides are currently second in their domestic leagues with fellow semi-finalists Bayern Munich and Barcelona leading the way.
