Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes the best is yet to come from Olivier Giroud and insists next season he will only get better.
The Gunners signed Giroud from French side Montpellier back in the summer for an estimated £12m after an impressive season in Ligue 1 in which he scored over 20 goals.
Subsequently, he was identified as the ideal replacement for Dutch striker Robin van Persie.
Things didn't get off to the best of starts for Giroud in England as he struggled to score goals for the side in the first few weeks, but after netting his first at Upton Park against West Ham, he didn't look back.
The Frenchman has scored an impressive 17 goals this season for his new club in all competitions, but his manager still believes the best is yet to come - and the fans will see that all next season.
Wenger is happy with how Giroud has settled in England and insists that next year he will only get better after seeing positive signs in his new striker.
“He has good physical potential,” he told Arsenal.com. “He wants to play every single game, he has a good basic stamina and he can absorb the games.
“He can absorb the body to body [challenges] because he's a strong guy. I think you will see more from him next season, and there's a lot more to come from him.
“He is very extrovert but as well he has a basic positive nature. He wants to do well, he is desperate to do well, but he is not the one who hides afterwards.
“He stands up for what he has done and I feel he deals quite well with that.”
