Arsenal have been reportedly chasing the Spanish ace David Villa, who would be a great addition to the Gunners' army which has needed strengthening since Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Robin van Persie and Cesc Fabregas left in past seasons.
Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud, Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal have been good replacements, but Arsenal definitely needs someone else to fill the gaps.
With his 108 league goals from 166 appearances for Valencia and 31 goals in 71 league appearances for Barcelona, he's not shy of scoring a few goals for his club as well as his country.
But, being over the age of 30, he may be on his way out of top form and may not have long left at the top level, which could mean Wenger may have a last-minute change of heart about the Spanish ace. However, with the price tag expected to be around the £14m mark, he could possibly be a good buy.
Villa is not only a La Liga ace but he’s also one of the best players Spain have ever produced; with a Spanish national team record of 53 goals in 88 appearances, he’s officially the country's all-time top goalscorer.
Arsenal are not shy about buying Spanish, as is evident by their first-team players, so Villa would be a great addition to their collection of the world’s best.
Overall it would seem like a wise and smart investment to continue their alleged chase of the Spaniard, who can bring class and skill to the north London giants.
