Florentino Perez has vowed to keep Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid beyond 2015, when his current deal is set to expire.

The Real Madrid president is confident that Cristiano Ronaldo will extend his contract at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo publicly claimed that he was unhappy at the club back in September, but Los Blancos are confident that their star man will agree to extend his stay in the Spanish capital.

The 28-year-old forward has been linked with a return to Manchester United, who he won the Champions League with in 2008. He has also been linked with moves to Manchester City and PSG in recent times, but Perez believes they can hang on to Ronaldo.

"Keep calm, we are going to renew with Cristiano Ronaldo. The club are going to pay him”, he told Real Madrid fans at a meeting.

Since Ronaldo arrived at Madrid, he has amassed 196 goals in just 193 appearances. He is the currently the Champions League top scorer with 11 goals and will be hoping to add to that against Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid will face arch-rivals Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey final and, with a Champions League semi-final against Borussia Dortmund in midweek for a place in the final at Wembley, Perez has expressed his delight.

"Real Madrid are having a great month with the Champions League and the Copa del Rey final," he continued. "Being the president of this club is difficult but so is being the coach. We must learn to live with it. We can discuss it between us, but we have to stay together.

"Criticism helps us."

Real Madrid will be gunning for a double in the cup and Champions League after finding themselves 13 points behind leaders Barcelona, despite cutting the lead to 10 points for a couple hours on Saturday after their 3-1 victory over Real Betis at the Bernabeu, while Barcelona had Cesc Fabregas to thank after his late goal ensured Barcelona continued their march towards the La Liga title.
