Thiago Silva pulled off a frankly impossible goal in Paris-Saint Germain's comfortable 3-0 win against Nice over the weekend - but the smile was soon wiped off his face after it was swiftly chalked off.

The Brazilian marauded forward in the game which all but confirmed PSG as Ligue 1 winners this season, and looked to have put the icing on the cake with a goal from an impossible angle.

Leaping over the on-rushing goalkeeper to latch on to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's pass, Silva wrapped his boot around the ball on the touchline and brilliantly curled it into the net. Well, almost anyway.

Sadly, a surefire contender for goal of the season was disallowed by the linesman and referee because the ball had just creeped beyond the touchline - much to Silva's frustration.

There have been some pretty special tight-angled goals scored in over the years - indeed, Sergio Aguero's impossible goal against Liverpool in February was pretty special - but it is hard to remember any player scoring from such a position, excluding corners.

So check out the video below and let us know your nominations for the best tight-angle goal by leaving a comment!
