Arsenal line up wondergoal star as Sagna replacement

Published 1 Comments

Arsenal are reportedly watching Aston Villa’s wonder goal hero Mattew Lowton as a possible replacement for Bacary Sagna.

According to the Sunday People, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has been impressed with what he has seen from the 23-year-old.

The report claims the Emirtes Stadium outfit are bracing for the departure of current first choice right back Sagna.

Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain have recently been linked with a move for the French international, who will have only a year left on his contract in the summer.

Lowton has been a regular in a struggling Aston Villa side this season but has shown flashes of promise in their battle to avoid relegation.

He hit the headlines this month after he scored one of the goals of the season in Villa’s 3-1 victory over Stoke City.

The young full-back controlled a cleared corner on his chest and hit an unstoppable volley into the far top corner.

However, it seems Lowton’s spectacular strike is not the only thing Arsenal have found impressive as the report shows.
