Xavi Hernandez believes that Lionel Messi will be the difference when the Spanish league leaders travel to German champions tonight in the Champions League.

The Spanish international explained in a press conference that he believes the Argentinian magician will be the key for Barcelona to defeat the German champions tonight.

Xavi told Spanish newspaper Marca that Messi: "makes the difference in every game and is very keen to play. I'm sure we'll see the best of Messi against Bayern.

The midfield maestro also went on to explain that Barcelona were not a one man team and they rely on Mess, like they do with the rest of the team.

Xavi continued by saying: "We need the best from Leo and the best from Barca, but Barcelona relies on the whole team.

"If we're on form, we have a very good chance of making the final. Messi's presence is important for the opponent as well. It has a big effect."

In the previous round of the Champions League, it was evident that Barcelona needed Messi, when the score was 1-0 to PSG, the little Argentine came on as a substitute and changed the game.

Messi was only half fit that night, but it seemed his presence struck a certain fear into the opposition, knowing that one mistake and Messi would pounce. This is what Barcelona will be wanting from Leo Messi tonight in what is sure to be a fantastic encounter against the German champions.
