There are many fine goalkeepers playing in the Premier League, but which ones deserve the most praise for their efforts?
Here we look at the top three goalkeepers currently playing in England's top division:
3. Hugo Lloris - Tottenham Hotspur
Hugo Lloris was signed from Olympique Lyon in the summer of 2012 for a fee believed to be in the region of £7.9m. Since signing, the French international has made a total of 26 appearances for Spurs.
Lloris initially found it hard to dislodge veteran Brad Friedel from between the Tottenham sticks at the start of the season, but the Frenchman took his chances when presented with starts in the Europa League in the earlier rounds.
Lloris is known for his speed, sweeping up when there is danger in the box. Lloris has also made some excellent reflex saves during his time at White Hart Lane, and thoroughly deserves to make the shortlist.
2. Joe Hart- Manchester City
The England international goalkeeper makes it into second place in the listings. Hart, known for his consistency in all areas of goalkeeping has featured in 36 games for Manchester City this season. Hart was signed from Shrewsbury Town for a meagre £500,000 sum, which is an absolute steal for a keeper now regarded as one of the biggest talents in goalkeeping.
Hart was a key core in team that saw Manchester City gain the Premier League title in the 2011-2012 season. A good shot-stopper, it is hard to see any other Englishmen who could dislodge Hart from between the England sticks.
1. Petr Cech- Chelsea
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech will always be regarded as one of Chelsea's best ever goalkeepers. A player that has made the position his own since his arrival in 2004-2005 season, it seems that Cech will never be dislodged from the position. As well as earning the Chelsea captaincy on a number of occasions this season, Cech has also been fundamental in Chelsea's Europa League journey.
At 6ft 6in Cech is not lacking any height, and his all round performances for Chelsea for nearly 10 years have ensured success has been bought to Stamford Bridge. Cech was also fundamental in the side that secured last seasons Champions League, and this is one of the reasons why Cech tops the list of Premier League goalkeepers.
