Ex-Arsenal star set for Premier League return?

Ex-Arsenal and Middlesbrough striker, Jérémie Aliadière, has recently been in the form of his life for Ligue 1 outfit, Lorient.

The former Clairefontaine trainee has scored 23 goals in 53 appearances for the French side since his move back in 2011, having joined the club on a free transfer following his release from Middlesbrough.

Quick and with an eye for goal, could Aliadière be set for a return to the Premier League?

At this stage in his career, where he is in the form of his life and scoring goals for fun, maybe the 30-year-old frontman can prove himself as the prolific striker that he always threatened to be.

Although he's failed to deliver in England's top tier, perhaps the time is now for Aliadière to prove his doubters wrong and make an impact on the biggest stage in world football?

However, Aliadière has dampened talk of a possible return to England and is happy to stay in Ligue 1, having featured in the majority of Lorient's games this season, compared to the stop-start nature of his career in the Premier League.

Aliadière told Sky Sports: "In my whole career, I could never play more than three months in a row. This season I have played 90 minutes during almost all the matches.

"I don't want to get any rest, I don't want to lose my dynamics. It is unbelievable I feel like I am dreaming.

"Back to England? I am talking with my agent and my idea is not to go back there."

Capable of playing in a wide postion, Aliadière is rumoured to be on the verge of a call-up to the Algeria national side due to his dual-nationality, although his preference is to represent the country of his birth, France.

Aliadiere added: "Algeria? I have not refused because I don't deny my origins, but I have never been to Algeria.

"Les Bleus? I am thinking about it more than before, because I never thought about it. One year ago it was just impossible.

"If playing international football is not possible with the French team then I would like to experience it playing elsewhere."

Whilst a move to England is not on the cards and with Aliadière seemingly happy in France, the ex-Celtic striker may struggle to reject the opportunity to have one last crack at the Premier League should a club come calling, despite his insistence otherwise.

Maybe this isn't the last we've seen of Aliadière in the Premier League after all?
