Arsenal have reportedly approached Juventus to enquire about the potentially availability of attacking duo Fabio Quagliarella and Alessandro Matri during the summer transfer window.

According to the Daily Express, the Gunners are interested in acquiring the services of both players and have spoken to Juventus to gauge if the Serie A champions would consider letting either leave Turin at the end of the season.

Arsene Wenger is reported to be keen to add more goals to his forward department when the transfer window opens, with last summer's acquisitions Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud failing to adequately compensate for the departure of Robin van Persie.

Quagliarella and Matri have seemingly been identified as potential Arsenal recruits, with the forward pair having scored 20 goals between them for Juventus this season.

It remains unclear, however, if Juventus are prepared to sell either player to Arsenal, despite Fernando Llorente set to arrive on a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao as of July 1.

Arsenal have also been linked with Barcelona's David Villa in their apparent pursuit of goalscoring reinforcements, and had been expected to launch a move for the Spaniard during the January transfer window.

Barcelona have maintained they want to keep Villa at the Camp Nou, and it remains unclear if Arsenal will reignite their interest in the 31-year-old when the window opens again.
