Luis Suarez is undoubtedly one of the Premier League's most flamboyant footballers.
Aged 26, the striker has already seen interest from big clubs around the globe, most notably Bayern Munich. Biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic saw the Liverpool man banned for ten games, putting his Liverpool career in jeopardy.
Suarez has already served an eight game ban last season on being proven guilty of racism charges against Manchester United vice-captain Patrice Evra. Perhaps the Uruguayan would be looking to leave his controversial past behind him and move away from the EPL.
But who can Liverpool replace him with?
1) Mario Gomez
A well-established German international, Gomez has been largely overlooked by Bayern this season. He has however, performed exceptionally well when given the chance to start ahead of fellow striker Mario Mandzukic.
His ability to score goals consistently might see him as a part of a swap deal if Suarez chooses to ply his trade at the Allianz Arena.
2) Christian Benteke
A young Belgian centre-forward who has already proved himself in English football's top flight, Liverpool fans could certainly see the youngster in a Liverpool shirt. While it may be too early to compare him with Luis Suarez, the 22-year-old has netted consistently for relegation-threatened Aston Villa. A part of the Belgian 'Golden Era', we might have a future star on our hands in Christian Benteke.
3) Wilfried Bony
Wilfried Bony is an Ivory Coast international striker who plays for Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch Eredivise. The 24-year-old fits the role of the modern striker and has scored a stunning 42 goals in 60 games for his club and is the leading goalscorer in the league. Bony has confirmed interest from Liverpool, Chelsea and West Ham.
Whether or not he can eventually replace Suarez remains to be seen, but Bony certainly possesses the attributes to perform for a top club.
4) Gonzalo Higuain
The Argentine needs no introduction. A proven goalscorer who can bring other players into the game- Higuain would possibly consider a move from Real Madrid to see more game time at Anfield.
He has recently lost his spot to the younger Karim Benzema and Madrid might be willing to let him go to Anfield for a reasonable price.
5) Theo Walcott
Earlier this season the quick Englishman made it clear that he wanted to be deployed in a central role for Arsenal.
However, Walcott has seen himself play down the wing for most of the season and a potential move to Anfield to play in a central role along with British compatriot Daniel Sturridge coupled with a desire for silverware might see the fastest player in the Premier League jump ships to Liverpool.
If Suarez stays or leaves remains to be seen. One thing is certain though. If he leaves, Liverpool need to get it right. They can't afford another Andy Carroll.
