Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewanowski's future remains unclear after his four-goal performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League last night.
The Polish striker was in sensational form at the Signal Iduna Park, bagging all of his side's goals in a commanding 4-1 win against Jose Mourinho's men to move Dortmund to within touching distance of the Champions League final.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for the prolific forward, but reports suggest he is on the verge of following team-mate Mario Gotze by joining Bayern Munich in the summer.
Der Spiegel report that Bayern have indeed agreed terms with Lewandowski, who has turned down the offer of a contract extension with Dortmund.
However the magazine report that Dortmund are unwilling to negotiate a fee with Bayern despite the prospect of losing him in a free when his contract expires in 2014 and the fact that Bayern have tabled a €25 million offer.
Instead they remain hopeful of persuading him to ignore offers from the likes of Bayern and Manchester United and stay put.
"Our wish is explicit that he stays here," said Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke after the game last night.
“We will even do without receiving a transfer fee for him — that doesn’t interest us in the slightest.
“Robert’s contract runs until 2014 and, unlike Mario Gotze, there is no get-out clause.”
Despite that, Lewandowski's agent appears to have confirmed that he will be on the move in the summer, and could well be heading to Bayern Munich.
"We have reached an agreement with another club and intend to switch clubs this summer," agent Maik Barthel was quoted as saying by Sport Bild.
"All of Borussia Dortmund's demands will be met."
Manchester United were reportedly close to landing Lewandowski last summer, but instead opted for a move for Robin van Persie.
The Red Devils have been linked with reigniting their interest in the former Lech Poznan man and could make a move to take him to Old Trafford., but look set to miss out to Bayern.
