Manchester United and Manchester City target Arturo Vidal has had a €45million bid for him from Bayern Munich rejected, effectively ending any hopes of an Old Trafford move.
The agent of Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes was reported to have told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope that Juventus rejected the whopping bid from the Bavarians.
"There was an offer for Vidal worth €45m, but Juventus made it clear they did not want to sell the player,” Quique Reyes told the radio show.
Manchester United and Manchester City were linked with a £30million move for Vidal in the past but the latest developments suggest that fee would not be enough to convince the Serie A champions to sell.
Manchester United are reportedly preparing to let go a number of midfielders this summer, with the likes of Nani, Anderson and Paul Scholes all tipped to be ending their Old Trafford careers in the summer.
Manchester City will be looking to reenergise their squad after giving up their Premier League title without much of a fight.
Vidal is a talented combative midfielder and would add bite to the midfields of Roberto Mancini or Sir Alex Ferguson, as well as something of a goal threat.
The Chile international is a mainstay in the Juventus team and has scored 14 goals in all competitions from midfield.
