AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy will be staying in Milan this summer, despite reports linking him with a move to fellow Serie A giants Napoli.
Following another successful season for the Rosseneri, El Shaarawy has made 40 appearances this term, scoring 19 goals in the process. This form has seen El Shaarawy emerge as a potential transfer target for Napoli who are looking to add to their array of attacking talent.
Napoli would look to use El Shaarawy as the player that would try and convince star players Edinson Cavani and Marek Hamsik to stay at the Stadium San Pablo.
However, despite the rumours, the agent of El Shaarawy has angrily dismissed the rumours. Roberto La Florio told reporters: "You ask me if Napoli want to sign El Shaarawy permanently.
"I must say I know nothing about this approach in this period.
"I've read that something happened in January, but I also checked that Milan refused this proposal."
El Shaarawy's current deal at the San Siro runs out in 2018, and it would take a huge transfer fee to take one of Italy's most promising prospects away from Milan. La Florio is confident that no team will submit an offer for his player in the summer.
His agent added: "It seems to me that Milan have made an investment. Milan's choice is to let young players grow.
"The market will open in June, even if I think I have understood that Milan haven't got the intention to deprive themselves of El Shaarawy.
"This was showed by the fact that they renewed his deal until 2018."
