Gareth Bale will stay at Tottenham, believes Villas-Boas
Tottenham news: Andre Villas-Boas is confident that Gareth Bale will be at White Hart Lane next season
Tottenham have signalled their intent by claiming Gareth Bale will not be going anywhere if the club manages to qualify for the Champions League next season, according to ESPN.
With Spurs yet to solidify their spot amongst the top four, the chance for playing in the Champions league grow slimmer each week as the league draws to a close. Bale has been linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid in the past and may be required to leave if he is to ever have a shot at European glory.
Spurs manager Andre Vilas-Boas told reporters that the club's talisman will commit his future to Tottenham so long as they secure a top-four finish in their final five games of this season.
When questioned about Bale's future he confidently replied: "I think so. That is the information that I have from the club. It has come from the club.
"This club is committed to keeping the best assets. That's the only way that we can ensure that we are in the top four every year. Gareth is part of that project bearing in mind that he has been amazing this season.
"Hopefully, we can develop him to a greater extent. We get the buzz from working with great players and Gareth has developed into a great player, so I couldn't be happier."
Bale has been in superb form this season for Spurs scoring 18 goals in the league. His performances also won him both the PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.
As a recognised world-class talent, Bale will have no shortage of clubs clamouring for his signature should Spurs not qualify for the Champions League.
The usual suspects would be Real Madrid but Manchester United could also look to swoop in for the mercurial winger. Also, as such an immensely talented player, it would be a shame if he does not continue his development at the highest level against the best in Europe and it would probably be a wise decision should he look to move on as he edges towards the prime of his career.
Fans will have to wait and see until the end of the season if Bale will remain at White Hart Lane at the end of the season.
