Sporting Lisbon have paid tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo by releasing a video of his early years with the team to celebrate him becoming the club's 100,000th member.

Ronaldo played for the Portuguese club between 1996 and 2003, before he was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson for £12.25m. But Sporting have made the player a part of the team's history by honouring him with a club membership - Sporting's 100,000th.

The Sporting academy graduate released a video message before the club's match against Nacional last weekend thanking the fans for their support, and reliving some of his early days with the team.
