The Premier League was formed in 1992, and since then legends have been created.
Here are the best five players in Premier League history:
Thierry Henry! What more to say? The former Arsenal man's goal record is unbelievable as he scored 175 league goals during his time at the Gunners, making him the highest scorer in Premier League history.
Henry's amazing host of attributes including his finishing, incisive runs and amazing skill and footwork, were some of the key elements to Arsenal's - and the Premier League's - only unbeaten season ever.
Throughout his time at Arsenal, he became a firm fan favourite and even re-joined them for a second spell on loan last January from New York Red Bulls. Because of this, Henry is considered the greatest foreign footballer English football has ever seen.
On the field, Giggs' performances were and still are a fine example for the future generation to follow. The Welsh wing wizard is the only man to have scored a goal in every single Premier League season, having played for around 20 years - and he doesn't look like he's ready to stop yet.
His mazy runs, and pinpoint distribution, guarantee him a spot in the five best players to ever feature in the Premier League.
Once the most expensive man in the Premier League, Shearer is one of the greatest No. 9s ever. The man has amazing passion for both the game and his beloved Toon Army - and he even came back to manage them for a brief spell.
Shearer's trademark celebrations, and his incredible ability to be able to find the net from anywhere on the pitch, make him the best English striker of the last 20 years.
Unlike Robin van Persie, Bergkamp is a Dutchman whose name is held in very high regard among the Arsenal faithful, and was an incredible player in his day. Bergkamp was famous for his esteemed elegance whilst on the ball and more importantly, that flick and that finish against Newcastle United.
However, Bergkamp's game wasn't all about goal-scoring, as his play also created various incredible goalscoring chances.
There were three central midfielders in the race for the position: Frank Lampard, Patrick Vieira and Gerrard. The incredible Vieira was comfortable in all areas of the pitch and, like talismanic midfielder Frank Lampard, is unlucky to not be selected.
However, for Gerrard's incredible play, eye for a goal and, more importantly, his refreshing loyalty, he makes the list. It is refreshing to see a player's game not solely motivated by money and Gerrard is certainly that. He has turned down several big-money offers and this dedication is exactly what the modern footballer needs.
There were various players who were unlucky to be not in this side:
MidfieldersDefendersGoalkeeperStrikers: Teddy Sheringham, Gianfranco Zola and Eric Cantona.
: Patrick Vieira, Frank Lampard, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Paul Scholes.
: John Terry and Rio Ferdinand.
: Peter Schmeichel.
