Andre Schürrle is concerned his dream move to Chelsea may break down after the Blues failed to come to an agreement over Kevin de Bruyne.
According to the Evening Standard, Bayer Leverkusen want the Stamford Bridge Belgian winger included in the £20million deal.
However, the report claims Chelsea are reluctant release the talented 21-year-old and would prefer another season-long loan.
Schürrle was expected to be a confirmed Chelsea signing by now after quotes from his agent claimed the switch should be finalised by Sunday.
It has not happened and the Standard report says the Germany international is worried the deal may break down over the De Bruyne issue.
Chelsea signed De Bruyne from Genk last summer but immediately loaned him to Bayer’s fellow Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.
The Belgium international is now unsure as to whether his long-term future lies at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea’s reluctance to hand on to De Bruyne is understandable as he has been in impressive form for Bremen and the Belgian national team this season.
Leverkusen appear to be not the only German club interested in signing him, as Borussia Dortmund were reportedly lining up a bid for him.
