Whenever a new season gets underway, a lot of football fans take to the online game Fantasy Premier League to put together the players they want for the season ahead.

For people who are not aware of this online game, you get £100m to spend on players and you have to choose the following: two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and three strikers.

You are able to play any formation you like, but you must have a goalkeeper  and you must have at least three defenders.

Your players get you points for doing things such as scoring goals, getting assists, keeping clean sheets - and players also get bonus points if they have done well in a match.

However you will lose points if your player concedes a certain number of goals, receives a booking or gets sent off.

The online game has over two million users and is a hit amongst football fans - so who has made the Fantasy XI with this season coming to an end?

Formation: 3-5-2

Goalkeeper: Asmir Begovic | Stoke City | 137 points
Defender: Leighton Baines | Everton | 162 points
Defender: Patrice Evra | Manchester United | 148 points
Defender: Branislav Ivanovic | Chelsea | 130 points
Midfielder: Gareth Bale | Tottenham | 225 points
Midfielder: Juan Mata | Chelsea | 192 points
Midfielder: Santi Cazorla | Arsenal | 183 points
Midfielder: Steven Gerrard | Liverpool | 182 points
Midfielder: Michu | Swansea City | 178 points*
Forward: Luis Suarez | Liverpool | 212 points
Forward: Robin Van Persie | Manchester United | 244 points

* Michu is classed as a midfielder on the game.

Now I know you will be thinking this team would never work in real-life and you are probably right, but this is the Fantasy Football dream team of 2012/13 so far.
