Chelsea transfer target confirms desire to move to Premier League

Chelsea transfer target Wilfried Bony has confirmed he'd be interested in a move to the Premier League one day, according to the BBC.

The Vitesse striker is currently the Eredivisie top scorer with 31 goals from 32 games, and he's been linked with the likes of Chelsea and West Ham among others.

And while Bony insists he's unaware of any developments regarding Chelsea's interest specifically, he remains interested in a move to the Premier League.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Bony said: "The transfer market has not started yet. There's nothing concrete.

"There's a lot of talk about me in the newspapers but I'm still focused on the last two games of the season with Vitesse and at the end of the season we will see.

"I've heard the rumours [about Chelsea being interested], like you've heard about that. There's nothing concrete. We'll see at the end of the season.

"I'm very interested in the Premier League and the atmosphere in England, it's a wonderful league and we will see what happens.

"For me the Premier League is the top league [in Europe], but the Bundesliga is also good - France, Italy and Spain they're all good too.

"England I think would be perfect."

West Ham have been mentioned as potential suitors for the Ivory Coast international, but Chelsea should have the added advantage of being able to offer Bony Champions League football next season.

Bony continued: "It would be great for me [to move to a club in the Champions League]. It's the only competition I haven't played in yet."

The 24-year-old came close to clinching a move to the Premier League before signing for Sparta Prague. Bony spent time on trial with Liverpool in 2007 while still on the books at Issia Wazi, an Ivorian side.

In January 2011 he left Sparta Prague for Vitesse, and hasn't stopped scoring since - hitting more than 50 goals in just over 60 appearances.
