Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal

The description on the front page of this piece possibly describes the Welshman’s ordeal over the past 18 months, where his return from a horrific leg-break saw him stink out the Emirates Stadium with some terrible form.

Not so much now, though, as Ramsey has taken his opportunity to play in centre midfield and his work-rate has proved crucial in the Gunners recent solidity.

He is slowly coming back to his best and the howls of abuse from the stands are becoming less frequent – people are starting to remember the promising young midfielder that shone before being struck down at Stoke.
