Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is planning a series of early raids in the summer transfer window to continue the club's recent success in the transfer market.
On the back of January signings Daniel Sturridge and Phillippe Coutinho, Rodgers is keen to enter the market early to allow his new signings time to settle in before the start of the next Premier League season.
The shrewd recruiting in January has given the manager the confidence to enter the market again to add the depth he feels his side is currently missing at the moment.
Rodgers told Sky Sports: "The club respect where we need to strengthen and where we need to improve."
"We have seen from the last window in January, we got our business done early and brought in two outstanding players in Sturridge and Coutinho," he said.
“Hopefully we will have a similar impact in the summer. If we can do that, it will make me really happy with the group going forward."
Since signing for the Reds in January, both Sturridge and Coutinho have been in outstanding form, with the English striker having scored eight times for the Merseysiders and the Brazilian adding two goals along with countless assists.
Rodgers is aware of the need to add an extra dose of quality and depth to his side so that they could possibly make a push towards Champions League football next season.
"I just think we need a bit more depth and a bit more quality. The players this year have done very well. I have asked everything of them and, in the main, they have done very well."
Among the players that have been linked with the Reds include the recently relegated Loic Remy of Queens Park Rangers.
He could be acquired to add some cover for Liverpool talisman Luis Suarez, who will miss the early part of next season due to the suspension he incurred for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.
The club have also been linked with Swansea centre back Ashley Williams, who will help to add cover for the soon to be retiring Jamie Carragher and link back up with his former boss at Swansea.
