Chelsea are set for a summer of spending once a deal to bring Jose Mourinho back to Stamford Bridge is agreed, according to the Daily Star.

The Real Madrid boss will cost £10m to bring to Chelsea due to the release clause in his Bernabeu contract, and he's expected to earn close to £12m-per-season in west London.

Add to that £22m for Andre Schurrle, and potentially up to £50m for Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao and Chelsea could be set for a record transfer spend this summer.

The report also claims Mourinho would be keen to bring Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk to Stamford Bridge, but the Brazilian would likely cost in excess of £30m.

A couple of Mourinho's Real Madrid favourites, Sami Khedira and Fabio Coentrao, could also make the switch with the Special One to Chelsea.

All in all, the report claims Chelsea could break £200m in spending. The Blues are expected to be active in the transfer market as they look to close the gap between them and the two Manchester clubs.

Last year's champions Manchester City and this year's winners Manchester United have been streets ahead in the Premier League, although Chelsea have a core of young players expected to challenge for the title in the coming years.

Mourinho has been identified as the man to bring back the glory years to Stamford Bridge, and he's hinted at a return to England, saying he wants 'to manage where he's loved'. When he was last in charge he guided the Blues to six trophies - including two Premier League titles - in three years.
