Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will give Lukas Podolski another chance to play in the central role when his side meet relegated Queens Park Rangers on Saturday evening.
The German international played as the strike during the 1-1 draw with champions Manchester United last weekend, but failed to make an impact during the match.
Arsenal's usual centre forward Olivier Giroud will miss the next two games as he still serves his suspension for getting sent off against Fulham two weeks ago.
Before the United games, Podolski hadn't been used as a striker since the opening game of the season against Sunderland, which ended 0-0.
Podolski is commonly used on the left-wing for both Arsenal and Germany, but the player himself still considers himself as a striker naturally.
Despite having a quiet game against United, Wenger is still confident that Podolski can be a dangerous striker.
“He has the qualities because he is a good finisher," the manager told Arsenal Player.
"He has a good technique and because we have a game based on very quick combinations I believe he can be a part of that. Overall I am convinced in the coming games he will show it.
"At the moment, yes [I will play Podolski in the middle]. A definite decision has not been made but if there is an opportunity then there is a good chance I will do it."
