Jose Mourinho open to Chelsea return even without Champions League

Published 9 Comments

Jose Mourinho will re-join Chelsea even if they do not qualify for the Champions League next season, though other issues could threaten his move there.

According to the Express, the Portuguese is almost certain to leave Real Madrid in the summer and wants to go back to Stamford Bridge.

The report claims Mourinho is so desperate to have a Chelsea reunions, he is not worried if they club are playing in the Europa League next season.

It also claims Mourinho has a verbal agreement with Stamford Bridge owner Roman Abramovich that the job is his if they can sort out certain factors.

“Jose would still come even if Chelsea do not finish in the top four,” a Chelsea source is quoted as saying in the report.

The major factor is supposedly the role of technical director Michael Emenalo, with the report claiming Abramovich wants to remain in his post no matter what, despite Mourinho having misgivings over his authority.
