Pendleton scoops sexiest sportswoman award

Victoria Pendleton has claimed her most 'prestigious' title to date - she's been voted FHM's Sexiest Girl in Sport.

The double Olympic gold medal-winning cyclist scooped the award at FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2013 awards ceremony in central London last night.

After receiving the award, which Pendleton jokingly labelled the 'most prestigious' she'd ever won, the former track cycling star admitted she was 'embarrassed' to have been labelled the sexiest woman in sport.

"I think this is the most prestigious award I could have ever won!' she said. "I'm thankful to everyone who voted.

"I'm totally embarrassed about being on the list, though. Really embarrassed!"

Pendleton has forged a successful career away from cycling having retired after picking up gold and silver medals at the Olympics in London last summer.

The 32-year-old former Strictly Come Dancing contestant said that despite being voted the sexiest sportswoman in the world she still struggles with her looks and doesn't 'feel sexy'.

She insisted: "I don't think I really do sexy very well. It's not something I feel. I'm more of a nerd, I'm a geek.

"It's all someone else's work to be perfectly honest. You get someone to do your make-up, get someone to do your hair."
