Chelsea’s interim manager has been batting away comments about the possibility of Jose Mourinho returning to Stamford Bridge next season.

In his press conference ahead of tonight’s Europa League semi-final against FC Basel Benitez was quizzed about Mourinho but he told journalists: "It's not my business.

"I have to concentrate on my business, that is to beat Basel."

Chelsea won the first leg in Switzerland 2-1 and are favourites to go through but after the torrid time that Basel gave Manchester United in the Champions League in 2011 Benitez is taking nothing for granted.

He is without left-back Ashley Cole, who is suspended, with Ryan Betrand deputising in his place but the 23-year-old is only one booking away from a suspension along with David Luiz, Ramires and John Obi Mikel.

Benitez will also be without Senegalese striker Demba Ba who cannot play after having already appeared for Newcastle United in the competition.

Benitez is obviously keen to win the competition but not at the expense of finishing in the top four in the Premier League in order to gain entry to the Champions League next season.

Benitez said: "We know it's our priority and we'll try to do it, I like to think in a positive way. We will be there."

Even if he wins the Europa League and gets Chelsea into the Champions League before he signs off it is hard to see him getting any thanks from the increasingly ungrateful fans at Stamford Bridge.
