Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is confident that Luis Suarez will stay at the club despite being banned for 10-games for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.
The incident occurred during the side's 2-2 draw and after hearing the duration of the ban, a lot of people were speculating that the ban might drive the striker out of England.
Suarez has been in trouble with the FA in the past after he was found guilty of racist comments aimed towards Manchester United's Patrice Evra, an incident that saw him miss eight games.
Now the Uruguayan has been banned for 10-games after the biting incident and there was initial worries that the FA may force him out of England after punishing him yet again for a long duration.
Despite the ongoing speculation on Suarez's future, club-captain Gerrard believes the striker will stay at Anfield despite the lengthy ban.
"He's really unhappy he can't help the team, and he was really down when the ban came through. But once he is back from his ban, we will be the ones that benefit.
"Luis will want to make it up to the club and the team that he has been out for so long. He will be desperate to atone for that.
"I don't think that what's happened to Luis will affect him much in terms of his future. Maybe one day we will have to accept that Luis wants to move on, and that will be his decision.
"But I don't see any signs of it at the moment. Luis has been really happy here at Liverpool and he seems settled here. I don't see him wanting to leave right now."
