Arsene Wenger admits his side played with fear at the Emirates earlier on in the season, however the Gunners boss has praised his sides away form throughout the campaign.

In 17 away games so far this season, Arsenal have won eight and drawn five of them. The four losses came away at; Norwich City's Carrow Road, Manchester United's Old Trafford, Chelsea's Stamford Bridge and most recently Tottenham's White Hart Lane.

The Gunners still have two away games left where they have to travel to already-relegated Queens Park Rangers and also lowly Newcastle United, but Arsene Wenger is happy to be going away as he believes his side have performed better on their travels than what they have at home at the Emirates Stadium.

So far this season only champions Manchester United and London rivals Tottenham Hotspur have picked up more points on their travels than Arsenal and Wenger believes playing with freedom is the reason to why they are performing well on away days.

Wenger told Arsenal Player: “We have been strong away from home and we had a good stability.

“How do you explain that? I believe that at home at the beginning of the season, we played with some fear.

“Away from home we played with more freedom and expressed more our game and maybe as well because the home teams attack more against us than they do at the Emirates. Away from home we have had a good season.”
