Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has ruled out a move for Zenit St. Petersburg forward Hulk.

Reports emerged earlier this week suggesting that Villas-Boas was keen on making a summer move for the Brazilian, who has endured a tough season since moving to Russia from Porto last summer.

Hulk starred for Villas-Boas' Porto side during their 2010/11 quadruple-winning, and having tried to land him before for both Chelsea and Spurs, the 35-year-old is reportedly keen on trying again for a reunion.

However he conceded that a move for Hulk, who cost Zenit around £32 million last year, would be impossible because of the figures involved.

"He was my player and scored 36 goals in one season but it's impossible he will make a move here because of the wages that he earns, which would break our balance," Villas-Boas said.

"He may have options in the summer but to a club like Tottenham his transfer fee is also impossible."

Tottenham will look to maintain their push for Champions League qualification this weekend when they take on Southampton at White Hart Lane.
