With Mario Gotze on his way to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, there will certainly be a void left for someone to fill this summer. Here, we look at three potential replacements that Borussia Dortmund could look to purchase when the transfer window re-opens.

1. Kevin de Bruyne | Werder Bremen (on loan from Chelsea)

The Belgian starlet would no doubt be an impressive signing to bolster Jurgen Klopp's side in the summer. After moving to Chelsea in 2012, the 21-year-old has since been sent out on loan to Werder Bremen where he has undoubtedly impressed. The former Genk midfielder has scored seven goals along with recording nine assists for his teammates.

2. Isco | Malaga

Certainly very impressive during his time at Malaga, the Spaniard has shown quality which would attract any top club. Despite signing a new contract with a buy-out clause of almost £30 million, many clubs will go after him and Dortmund may join that list. Especially with the fee to be received for Gotze, it will be enough to bring the former Valencia midfielder to Germany.

3. Christian Eriksen | Ajax

Open to a departure from Amsterdam, Eriksen should definitely be a candidate worth chasing as a fitting replacement for the Bayern-bound midfielder.

The Denmark international has once again had a stunning season in the Eredivisie, registering ten goals along with over ten assists. Before recently winning his third league title, the Liverpool target has admitted his interest in a possible move away from the Amsterdam Arena and may be tempted by the challenge of filling Gotze's shoes with the eight time Bundesliga champions.
