Arsenal have been enjoying an undefeated streak that began in mid-March, and their triumph on Saturday was yet another dividend that expanded their tally to six wins and two draws in their last eight games.

The Gunners ran away with a narrow 1-0 victory away to QPR’s Loftus Road Stadium, thanks to a first-minute goal from Theo Walcott.

Just as Arsenal had chances to increase their lead during the match, the home side also made sacrifices to remain alive at least through an equaliser. That never happened though, and Coach Arsene Wenger believes that if the defence appeared to be so solid, it was all because of the great amount of focus that his players had put into the match.

Wenger told Arsenal's official site: “We did the job with a great level of focus.

“We showed good concentration and in some situations where the ball was in the box, we did not make a mistake that could have been costly.

“We did not [concede] a penalty and were calm. We have improved a lot defensively.”

Arsenal currently lie in fourth place in the Premier League table with 67 points, having played a game more than city rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

As Spurs have reasons to target a place in next season’s Champions League finals, the Gunners are compelled to aim for maximum points out of their remaining two games in their league campaign.

With third place Chelsea feeling the pressure above them with just a point ahead and a game less, anything could happen at the top of the standings on Sunday, May 19, when the 2012-13 EPL season comes to an end.
