As Manchester United prepare to defend their Premier League crown next season without the likes of Nani and Ashley Young, it has been reported that Real Madrid have offered Argentina winger Angel Di Maria to the Red Devils.

Di Maria has not had the best of seasons this year, but we are aware of his potential after his brilliant first campaign at Madrid; and whilst Manchester United are interested in bringing Di Maria to Old Trafford to bolster their attacking options, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are also interested.

Spanish newspaper Marca have reported that Real Madrid will only want Sir Alex Ferguson to stump up £15million - and that Manchester United are considering doing business.

With Nani refusing to sign a new contract and wanting regular first-team football, backed up by the less than impressive Young and Antonio Valencia, signing another winger is a must next season - and Di Maria is seen as an ideal replacement for any of the three current wingers, with Wilfried Zaha also coming into the team.

Di Maria is one of several players set to leave the Bernabeu this summer, with fellow Argentinian Gonzalo Higuain also reportedly on his way out - and not forgetting Jose Mourinho, who is looking likely to join former club Chelsea.

Manchester United will not focus their entire attention on Di Maria, however, with rumours suggesting they are also in the market for Gareth Bale and even Cristiano Ronaldo, which could see Nani and Mexico striker Javier Hernandez go the other way.

Many would see Real Madrid only asking for £15million as a way of moving United’s attention away from Ronaldo, and even allowing them to get in first for Gareth Bale which will direct Manchester United’s interest elsewhere.

Di Maria had the opportunity to avoid playing in Madrid as Arsenal were linked with a move for him in 2007 and were locked in a tug-of-war with Benfica, with Di Maria opting to move to Portugal. His impressive performances led to a big-money move to the Spanish capital.

Di Maria is currently under contract at the Spanish club until 2018, but it looks increasingly likely that he will be on his way out of the Bernabeu this summer.

What do you Manchester United fans think? Would you want to see Angel Di Maria at Old Trafford next season?
