Chelsea, in recent times, have received criticism for their dependence on their older squad players. This however, is not the case anymore.
With a growing number of younger players throughout the first-team making their presence known with excellent performances and dazzling displays, Chelsea have given their squad a burst of energy that has successfully paid off.
Key signings like Eden Hazard, Oscar and Victor Moses,Chelsea have gained new life in the way they attack. Hazard was nominated for both the PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year in his first season with his trickery and excellent dribbling skills for Chelsea.
Oscar has wooed the Stamford Bridge faithful with dazzling skills and memorable goals throughout the campaign, especially his sublime finish against Juventus in the Champions League Group Stage. Victor Moses has won the respect of the people that doubted his transfer to Chelsea. With his powerful running and an eye for goal, Moses has produced moments of brilliance throughout his first season at Chelsea
Wing-backs, Cesar Azpilicueta and Ryan Bertrand have also put in good performances on the flanks throughout the season. Dutch youngster Nathan Ake is also making his voice heard with appearances off the bench, most recently in Chelsea's victory over FC Basel in the Europa League semi-final second leg.
Chelsea also have a group of emerging talent on loan at top clubs throughout Europe. Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has made the position his own in the Spanish capital. Kevin De Bruyne has brought attacking flair to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga and Romelu Lukaku has banged in the goals for West Brom to the extent that, along with compatriot Hazard, got himself nominated for the PFA Young Player of The Year award.
With youngsters including Josh McEachran, Gael Kakuta and Lucas Piazon also out on loan gaining valuable experience, Chelsea have a talented set of youngsters on their roster.
If Chelsea can hold onto the majority of these players for the immediate future, they will have an excellent opportunity of challenging for domestic and european success in the future.
