Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the world’s best players at one of the world’s biggest clubs with some of the game’s most prestigious trophies in his cabinet but it gets even better – because it turns out he’s also one of the club’s top FIFA 13 players too.

Speaking at the FIWC Grand Final event in Madrid, Spanish international defender and Real Madrid star Raul Albiol revealed his Portuguese teammate is the Bernabeu club’s best FIFA 13 player.

Albiol took on one of the 21 FIWC Grand Finalists at the Hotel Reina Victoria in the Spanish capital on Monday, as the meeting of the world’s best FIFA 13 players got underway in style.

Up against Bulgarian qualifier Stanislav Chakarov, Albiol more than held his own as he battled his way to a 1-1 draw – although he did later admit his opponent may have gone easy on him.

Chakarov reached the prestigious tournament by winning online season six and just by qualifying the 20-year-old student and Levski Sofia fan underlined his credentials as one of the world’s top FIFA 13 players.

Playing as Barcelona – Chakarov’s favourite player is Leo Messi – the Bulgarian raced into an early lead courtesy of the Argentinean magician.

But Albiol, with himself playing alongside Sergio Ramos at the heart of the Real Madrid defence, fought back and secured a late equaliser through who else but Cristiano Ronaldo.

The World Cup winning 27-year-old may not be too used to his opponents letting him back into the game on the football pitch, but he was gracious enough to concede his well-schooled opponent may have done just that on this occasion.

Speaking to GiveMeFootball, Albiol said: “It was a good result for me! Although I think he may not have been trying his hardest towards the end.

“I play FIFA every now and then when I can, but I think I need to improve,” continued the Spain international.

And when asked which Real Madrid star dominates FIFA 13 at the Bernabeu, Albiol was pretty emphatic: “Cristiano Ronaldo.” Although he then joked and added: “After me of course!”
