Is Jose Mourinho the right man for Chelsea?
Chelsea opinion: Does Mourinho have what it takes to succeed in a second stint at Stamford Bridge?
It's easy to see why Jose Mourinho's name is still heard wherever Chelsea fans roam.
The man created history at Stamford Bridge by winning back-to-back titles and the FA Cup in such short time. His impact was immediate and he has been written into Chelsea folklore.
With this in mind, is it the right time for Jose to return "home".
Arrogance, flair and charisma are three personality traits that the majority of people can associate with Mr. Mourinho. He is in no means shy when he is put on the spot by the paparazzi or media and openly speaks his mind with utter confidence. This undoubtedly is great entertainment for neutral fans and sports enthusiasts around the world, but does it reflect positively on the club?
A public war of words with Russian owner Roman Abramovich brought a sense of unrest and instability to the club when Chelsea were flying high. Mourinho has been promised total control over his team if he was to return to the club, but a bad run of games can easily enrage the owner and attract conflict behind the scenes of this truly decorated football club.
Mourinho has such great love for Chelsea. His relationship with the team has been mentioned in numerous interviews throughout his tenure at Inter Milan and, more recently, at Real Madrid. Mourinho has publicly admitted that some of the best moments of his career to date were at the helm of Stamford Bridge.
The fans adore him, the players love him, his record is impeccable and his tactics produce results. It is a smart bet on paper but can Mourinho adapt back in London and can he build a successful relationship with a man that craves trophies, beautiful football and the transfer of world's best superstars even if they do not fit in with the Special One's plans?
Only time will tell, but whatever the result, it surely builds for an interesting summer of media frenzy and juicy gossip.
