Bayern Munich have been in exceptional form this season, especially when you look at their last 25 games.
This has caused many people to believe that the final is already clear-cut, especially considering the fact that one of Borussia Dortmund's star players, Mario Gotze, will probably have one eye following campaign representing Bayern Munich.
However, we cannot write off such an impressive team so easily.
Let's not forget how difficult it was for Dortmund to make it to the final in the first place. Most people didn't even regard them as contenders to make it into the round of 16, as they were placed in the "Group of Death" alongside Real Madrid, Manchester City and Ajax.
They finished top of their group, winning five, drawing four and losing none. They followed it up with a victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, and completed a 3-2 win over Malaga after a 0-0 draw. After that, an impressive 4-1 victory over Real Madrid effectively saw them qualify for the final, despite a 2-0 loss in the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Besides never having lost a match in the Champion's League this season, they also came close to beating Bayern when the two teams faced each other in the Bundesliga recently. Although Bayern had already clinched the title, this match provided them with a dress rehearsal for the final at Wembley - and despite the fact that it finished 1-1, Dortmund should have won it had key striker Robert Lewandowski not missed a vital penalty.
It appears as though the final will be a very evenly-contested match, with either side capable of lifting the trophy. That being said, let's also not forget about Bayern Munich's heartbreaking loss to Chelsea last season, as this could fuel their determination and desire to finally winning that coveted trophy with their "golden generation" of players.
