Arsenal have lined up another possible option to provide Wojciech Szczesny with some competition next season.

According to talkSPORT, the Gunners are considering a move for Stuttgart number one Sven Ulreich as Arsenal manager searches for greater options between the sticks.

Szczesny was considered the undisputed number one at the beginning of the season but his form suffered in the last couple of months.

A few poor performances and mistakes leading to goals culminated in him being dropped for the second leg of the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich for compatriot Lukasz Fabianski.

Wenger was expected to stick with the elder Pole for Arsenal’s remaining games this season but a rib injury gave Szczesny the chance to prive his worth once again.

The 23-year-old has showed much better form since his return but the talkSPORT report suggests he still hasn’t done enough to convince Wenger he doesn’t need a new goalkeeper.

Ulreich has impressed since becoming a fixture in the Stuttgart starting XI two seasons ago and has been tipped for a bright future in German football.

However, the report claims his contract does not expire until 2017 and would command a not insignificant fee.
