Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has dismissed suggestions he could leave the club during the summer transfer window, amid reported interest in his signature from Chelsea.

Alonso has been linked with a move to Chelsea before August's transfer deadline, with the Spaniard a target for Jose Mourinho if, as expected, he leaves the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season to succeed Rafael Benitez as Blues manager.

There have also been claims Mourinho could attempt to keep Cristiano Ronaldo from the clutches of Manchester United, as the Real Madrid forward is linked with a return to Old Trafford.

Alonso, however, has extinguished claims he could follow Mourinho to Chelsea - claiming his future is with Real Madrid at not at Stamford Bridge.

"Of course I'm going to be here next season," Alonso told Marca following Madrid's resounding 6-2 win against Malaga on Wednesday.

Along with Chelsea, Alonso's former club Liverpool have also been credited with interest in the Spain midfielder, as Reds manager Brendan Rodgers looks to bring further reinforcements to Anfield during the imminent transfer period.

The 31-year-old spent spent five seasons with Liverpool, during which time he won the Champions League and FA Cup, before being sold to Real Madrid for £30 million in August 2009.
