Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are reported to be interested in acquiring the services of Arsenal target David Villa in the summer transfer window, as the Barcelona striker continues to be linked with a move away from the Camp Nou.
According to Spanish publication Sport, both Tottenham and Atletico are monitoring the situation of Villa and could launch bids for the €12 million-rated Spain international if he is made available for transfer.
Villa has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal as Arsene Wenger strives to reinforce his goalscoring department, and there was a reported attempt to bring the 31-year-old to the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window.
Should Arsenal renew their interest in Villa, however, there may now be competition from Spurs in pursuit of the former Valencia hitman, as the White Hart Lane club also look to recruit another forward.
Spurs are reported to be in the market for another goalscoring during the imminent transfer window, with Emmanuel Adebayor likely to be shipped out after just one season as a contracted member of the club's playing staff.
Along with Villa, Spurs have also been credited with interest in highly-rated Brazil international Leandro Damiao, as well as Christian Benteke of Aston Villa.
