With two games left in the season, Tottenham Hotspur are fighting for a spot in next years UEFA Champions League. Tottenham has had a problem finding a good striker who can score goals week in and week out.

Gareth Bale has accounted for a third of Tottenham goals but may be departing this summer.

Tottenham brought in Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City for £5 million after impressing on loan last year. Unfortunately, he has had an extremely disappointing year after only scoring four goals in league play.

Jermain Defoe has scored 11 goals but is 30 years of age and isn’t getting any younger.

If Gareth Bale was to leave Tottenham, Spurs would have a huge void that would needed to be filled up front. Here are five possible names that could be making their way to the Lane next season.

Wilfried Bony - Vitesse

The Ivorian striker has had a year to remember in the Eredivisie as he scored 31 times and could possibly put Vitesse into the Champions league depending on the last week of play. Bony is 24-years-old and is a strong, quick striker. Bony has not been directly linked with a move to Tottenham but has been linked with a move to England. Chelsea, Liverpool, and West Ham are all interested in his services.

Christian Benteke - Aston Villa

Christian Benteke has had an outstanding year at Aston Villa. Benteke joined from Belgian club Racing Genk over the summer and has done an unbelievable job since.

In 33 appearances he has bagged 18 goals and has fired Aston Villa to near safety. Like Bony, Benteke is a fast, powerful striker who has an eye for scoring goals. Benteke has been heavily linked with Tottenham but Aston Villa won’t let him go that easily or that cheaply.

Leandro Damiao- Internacional

Damiao came very close to making a move to Tottenham during the winter transfer period but it ended up failing. Damiao moves well with the ball and is a force in the air.  He has impressed in his native Brazil and scored six goals in last summer’s Olympics. Despite not playing in Europe, the talent is there and he could succeed in the Premier League.

Loic Remy - Queens Park Rangers

Loic Remy moved to Queens Park Rangers over the winter transfer window hoping to keep QPR in the Premier League. QPR were relegated and now Remy is on the look out for another club after moving to QPR for £8 million. In Remy’s 11 appearances for QPR he has scored five goals. He is a quick speed dribbler who can easily run circles around defenders. Remy would be a great fit for Tottenham and it would be convenient for him as he is already located in London.

Gonzalo Higuain - Real Madrid

Gonzalo Higuain has fallen out of favour at Real Madrid and is looking for a way out. Higuain has been with Real Madrid since 2007 and still is a fantastic striker.

Tottenham tried to get him last summer but failed at the last second. Higuain has also garnered interest from Arsenal and Manchester City who seem to be favorites to sign the 25-year-old Argentine.
