It's been a long and hard battle for a top four finish. With only two games to go for Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs, they're all in with a chance of a top three finish.

Only one point separates fourth-placed Arsenal and fifth-placed Tottenham after this week’s London derby saw Spurs drop two points. It has left them stuck in fifth and they will now be hoping either Wigan or Newcastle can fight their way to a vital point against Arsenal.

No teams fight harder and are more determined in the last fixtures of the season than the relegation strugglers and teams would do well to avoid them.

Arsenal’s last two games are against Wigan and Newcastle United. These two teams have a big problem ahead. Relegation is looming over them both, and cannot afford to drop on single point. They’re going to fight, and Arsenal really need to prepare for a tough challenge.

Arsenal may be the favourites to win in both games but the pressure and the power supplied by Wigan and Newcastle may be the key aspects that could see Arsenal drop into the Europa league.

Wigan are known as the survivors. On more than the odd occasion have they found themselves on the verge of a Premier League exit but to survive.

Roberto Martinez, has been the man that has saved them on these occasions, and we shouldn’t put it past him to do it again. Wigan’s experience in this situation means that they know what they need to do at this stage.

Martinez’s next challenge is the clash with Manchester City in the F.A Cup final. This will allow his team to gain knowledge on how to tackle such a big club.

Arsenal themselves have experience with end-of-season scraps and are always ready for a fight. However, their last performance against QPR saw a great first half turn into a nervy and pressurising second half.

QPR at this point were already relegated which meant they had less to fight for than Wigan do. Could Arsenal see there Champions league hopes shattered against Wigan? It is possible, and Arsenal need to be cautious about how they approach this game.

Newcastle also have a chance to surprise Arsenal. Last year, they were a team that surprised many as they finished in a very strong position. They managed to reach the Europa league themselves, but now face a tougher challenge.

This team has quality in players such as Cabaye and Coloccini and they have proven in the past that they can take Arsenal for an uneasy ride.

Meanwhile Chelsea face Aston Villa in their next match. They too are in a dangerous position and need as many points as possible. They have the likes of Christian Benteke, so Chelsea may have a challenge- and-a-half ahead of themselves.

So it is possible that the fight at the bottom end of the table could impact on the top end. This is the last couple of pushes for these fighting teams; for some there will be heart-ache, but who it’s with depends on how prepared the London top clubs are for the matches against the premier league strugglers.
