Tom Daley ruled out of Grand Prix event with elbow injury
Diver Tom Daley has pulled out of the event in Fort Lauderdale after training injury
Olympic bronze medalist Tom Daley has suffered an injury ahead of his quest to win the World Championships.
Daley, 18, has removed himself from the Grand Prix event in Fort Lauderdale with an elbow complaint after hurting it during training.
"I'm gutted to have pulled out of the Grand Prix event in Fort Lauderdale due to an elbow injury. Hopefully I can make a swift recovery and be ready for the two upcoming World Series events in Mexico."Tom exclusively told GiveMeSport for his offical Facebook page:
Daley will be assessed before the upcoming World Series events to make sure he's fit to dive.
The news comes as a setback for Daley and his fans after the diver looked in supreme form last month after winning gold at the World Series diving event in Edinburgh.
Daley had only just returned from an eight-month break at the World Series event in Scotland which was his first major competition since he took Olympic bronze at London 2012.
The Swimming World Championships are being held in Barcelona from 19th July, with the diving event starting a day later. Daley will hope to recover from his injury setback and get back to the diving platform as soon as possible.
